Hello everyone!
I’m relatively new to hatching (I’m on my second batch with the first being a 2/2). Here’s my issue. I had to leave town for an emergency and a friend of mine who watches my chickens and goats is also watching my incubator. The first two days it was fine. We are now on day 16. She messaged to say the humidity had dropped to 28% but she just put water in last night. That also happened last time, so I imagine she just didn’t put enough water in the trough last night and it ran out. Well when she saw it at 28% she put more water in it. (I keep it at 45-55% until the last 2-3 days.) Well I am guessing she spilled it into the other troughs or something because the humidity went up to 59%. It wasn’t that high for very long, maybe half an hour. I had her clean up the excess and vent the lid for a few and then put it back on. It’s been stable at 50% now for a bit. So now I’m trying not to completely lose it. I’m almost in tears lol. I’ve read so much stuff that either says they’ll be fine or that they’ll die lol. I’m so worried the humidity went to high before their lockdown period. I know there’s no way to know for sure until they are supposed to start pipping on Friday, but does anyone have an idea of how that will affect them? I’m so worried lol!

In all likelihood, it did not harm the embryos at all. If it was that high throughout incubation that would be a concern...this is not! Between the low and the high, it should equal out in the bigger scheme of things.

Omg thank you so much. I know I can’t do anything about it but I’m literally sick with worry lol.
