Ditto. many thanks..

I bought a used Sportsman 1502 yesterday for $300.oo.. It has the see though door and a brand new solid state thermostat.. I ran it all day today and am really pleased with it..The temp held perfectly wherever I set it.. I ran it dry and the humidity was 25.. I added a small pan of water and the humidity went to 47 and held right there. spring hatching, here I come.
I am going to use a lot of tips from what I read here..

It has three turning trays that each hold 6 dozen chicken eggs.
3 x 72 = 216 ..

Great deal. You got lucky! Enjoy!

We made one today, thanks to her idea. We always have syringes on hand, since we have dogs and horses--you can get them at the feed store, or you can try any drugstore for "dosing" syringes that are for measuring medicine for kids. Aquarium tubing from Wal-Mart fit PERFECTLY over the end of a regular 30cc syringe from the feed store.

After calibrating my hygrometer for 12 hours I found that it read 71%. So I mentally add 4% to what it says in the bator to get an accurite reading... Right?

Now if I can just get hubby up off his sick bed to finish the wiring in our homemade bator, I will be good to go.

You got it. Thankfully this is a GP site, so I can't tell you how my DW would get me up and out of a sick bed. Knowing he will wire it right for you.

The whole family (including me) have the flu. DD got it first so she and I have been pulling nurse duty. I am hoping for enough energy to get it done and then we can collapse and watch our eggs incubate.
