Humidity in incubator Vs Humidity outside...

I recently have had the same problem. We have had so much rain and the humidity has been very high. We recently had over a foot of rain when normally we should have gotten 2 inches for the same time period. I tried all of the suggestions. I wanted my humidity around 30% because that is where I have the best hatch rates. I couldn't get the humidity below 50%. Finally I got some Damp Rid and put the container in my water tray, I incubate in a cabinet. It worked. I have chicks hatching at this minute. I recently bought some 20 gram packets with moisture absorbing beads. I haven't tried them yet, they turn color when they need to be changed and are reusable.

You are just a hop-skip & a jump from me.. How do you like all this rain we have been getting? We are mowing 3 times a week. My pig pens are swamps..
That was a good suggestion to the OP, I have a "Damp-rid" in my incubator room. And a pail of bbq charcoal.

Hey. I have a farm innovators, I did have a chick the last batch that was born with a deformed crooked leg, I just have too wonder if that is the humidity, or the temperature . I really want a better batch then the last two. the humidity is at 55% right now. Is that right??

During incubation, I have had my best hatches when the humidity is around 30%. Maybe 50% is good for you. Some people swear by it and most manufactures suggest similar. I have tried many different humidities and my hatch rate has been the best at around 30% during incubation and 75% during lockdown. I have chicks hatching right this minute.

Hey, congratulations on your hatch! If I can remember my humidity was around 45% and I had really good hatches. Do you think the humidity being at 54-57% is lowering my hatch rates?? If is day 8 today, and I am going too candle them tonight, I'll see how the air sells are. Temperature is at 102.0 right now. So let's just hope for the best.

I personally think that around 50% isn't good. I only had around a 60% hatch rate at that humidity. I try not to let it get above 40% but lower for me has been a better hatch. Now it's been around 80 to 90% hatch. I have had a couple that were 100% but not in a long time. 102ºF on the temperature might be a little high. I try to stay around 99ºF to 100ºF.

My best hatches have been with the humidity below 40% during incubation and 70% + during lockdown. The temperature I keep around 99°F to 100°F. I have chicks hatching right now.

Ok, my temperature is off a little so i leave it a little higher. Is it too late too lower the humidity??

I'm sure everything will be ok. I wanted to add, because the temperature has been a bit high the chicks might hatch a day or two early.
