Hi, I'm using a 24 Chinese chicken egg incubator often referred to as the YZ-24a I've included an image below.

I've got the temperature set to 37.5 degrees c. However the humidity is difficult to control... I'd prefer to dry incubate at around 30% humidity but the bloody thing keeps beeping because it reads high and is programmed to beep at 30% or lower. I've been into the settings to turn HS down and it won't let me go lower than 30%.

As soon as I fill only 1 water Channel the humidity flies up to 55% or 60%. Which is too high and last time caused several chicks to struggle hatching and born with curled toes..

Any ideas please?
Thanks

Hello,
I had one off this incubators and belive they wont tell the right temperature or humidity especially humidity, don't worry just fill one of the water channels and do not look the humidity that incubator shows to you. I would recommend you to buy and humidity and temperature measures because they wont tell the right conditions.
P.s.
These incubators are headache, please buy an alternative temperature and humidity measure.

That's the thing, I'm using my own humidity gauge and ignoring the incubator. But because the incubator incorrectly reads high, when I have humidity at 40% it thinks I'm lower than 30% and beeps all the time.

Surely there is a way to trick its humidity sensor or remove the beeper?

Yes press the (-) for about 5 seconds the beep will stop.

i figured out how to turn the alarm off forever.

if you can remove the control panel from the plastic housing. use super glue to fill in the hole of the little rubble job or needle nose plyerz to remove

lol i almost started a fire to figure this out
