Humidity problem

I have a forced air incubator so does this still apply
So do I.

AmyLynn - I've seen on other threads that you leave the plugs out...but the manufacturers instructions (hovabator) say to leave them in with the exception of high altitude and high humidity. Feel like I"m darned if I do, and darned if I don't.

A lot of them do. There is a lot of misinformation in those manuals too. Like improper temp for still airs. Improper humidity levels and practices (on filling the wells.) All those manuals (in my opinion) are good for is how to run their product, not how to incubate and hatch chicks. Most experienced hatchers will tell you, the chicks need the extra air flow at hatch. You can leave them in. I choose to have them open. I just adjust my temp and humidty for them being open for the duration.

Question...i have 7 chick eggs i see making some progress, but some are breaking through underneath the egg and it looks like lil breaks on the side and one is butted up against the other egg.is this normal and if the eggs are too close will it hender their hatching..

And one has a very tiny hole at the top of the egg but hasn't made any progress for hours...

It's okay, they break a whole bunch of little holes to "unzip" the end of the shell, then pop the top off.
