My harlequen duck eggs are on day 28. In my Brinsea mini, they were so big, they laid horizontal pretty much the whole time and now 4 of 7 have pipped on the wrong end. Because of this I have been assisting little by little. 5 waited until today (or middle of last night) to pip and have done little today, so I was thinking maybe my humidity was too high. However, when I went to assist one just now who pipped bellow the air sac, again, and made a small hole for it to breath, I noticed that the inner membrane was white and dry instead of moist like I expected.
Does this indicate that they are being shrink wrapped and the Humidity is actually too low?
As it is now, most stand to hatch on day 29 or 30, is that considered late and probably due to high humidity (temp was very stable)?

Your only off by 1 day, is it possible you counted wrong? Day one is actually 24 hours AFTER you set the eggs.
Every time you open the incubator to assist, you are letting out whatever humidity there is in the incubator, so it is a good possibility humidity is to low. You can help by misting or adding a warm wet cloth to replace the lost humidity. You don't say what the humidity is but you can actually run it pretty high once the pip the shell

Thanks, I set my incubator for 28 as per directions sothe incubator knew when the period was up. Thank you for informing me that its OK to get the humidity really high after they've pipped. I put a wet rag in and I think it really helped.
I only had one with a slightly protruding navel in the end.
