Humidity Question

Welcome to BYC @duvaroo

How many days have the eggs been incubating? Humidity is measured over the entire incubation period so a few days of too high or too low can be altered if you have enough days left. It all depends on the size of your air cells. Air cell size chart below, numbers indicate size they should be about on those days.

I agree though with @HollowOfWisps and run dry until you get your new hygrometer.

Have you had a read of this ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/the-beginners-guide-to-incubation.73350/
we are on day 4

Opening the incubator will be fine. If a hen were sitting on the eggs she would get up each day and go off to eat, drink & poop. At day 4 you still have time to sort the humidity out depending on what the air cells look like.

A wet bulb and the hydrometers that most use now have slightly different ways of reading the humidity. Make sure you follow the guidelines for the correct instrument. How much surface area of water you need when hatching is affected by the relative humidity in the air. The first part of hatch needs to be dry enough for the eggs to loose moisture. The final 3 Days need to be humid enough for the membranes to be moist
