Humidity question

Im actually going through this at the moment. My humidity is normally 50-55%. How do you hatch yours? Do you fill the bottle or reservoir up at all, partially or only closer to lockdown? My one bottle is half full. Should I just empty it or only partially fill it? I'm at Day 8.
I don’t add any water at anytime, it’s 100% dry hatch, when the chicks start hatching humidity jumps up in the 80’s.
I do very well with this method.

Hello! I’m preparing to set my first eggs in an incubator and have been poking around to absorb as much info as possible. Your post about dry hatching caught my eye and I might just give it a go, it seems much easier than trying to battle fluctuating humidity. Do you open the incubator vents all the way with this method?

I open them 1/4 of the way, when they start pipping, I open them all the way.
I don’t open the incubator until day 18 when I candle the eggs for the first and only time.
We are in a higher humidity area in Texas, and this method works very well for me.
My humidity stays in the 30-40% range and will get into the 50’s rarely.
I watched other dry hatchers, and they don’t worry about humidity as long as it stays above 15%, I do keep a close eye in temperature.
I have govee thermometers that I check it with.

Thank you so much! I’ll keep an eye on the humidity and make any adjustments as needed
