So I woke up on the 22nd day and one of my seven eggs pipped. Okay all fine. Right? Wrong. The hydrometer says 90%. Oh what did I do! Yesterday the humidity was at 54% and dropping so I added water. Then I woke up to this. Also the chick only pipped when I added water. Now on previous hatches they looked like the same Condensation as this one. I did fine on the previous hatches. I have a janoel 12 incubator. Help please!!

One just hatched and another one pipped like 15 hours ago. The one that hatched is screaming, is that normal?

Moisture from the hatching eggs raises the humidity. Someone with more experience will need to comment about if it can get to high. In my experience I had trouble keeping the humidity high enough for lock down.

my janoelle 12 doesn’t hold humidity well....during hatch it has been as high as 90 (during active hatch) and dropped as low as 20 and hatch was still ok. just keep an eye on it as it can drop quickly. and definitely keep us posted! :fl:fl:fl

Well I’m doing amerucana eggs. The chick knocked to hydrometer over so now I can’t see it. It also rolled all the eggs over. Including the pipped one. But it seems like their talking to each other. Do y’all think there is a problem because the chick won’t be quiet and won’t calm down?

most likely not a problem my first hatch was always the noisiest in the bunch and 12+ hours ahead of the rest. fyi: they also turned out to be boys!

They can be pretty noisy..and rowdy, then 'pass out' and take a nap, then repeat.
