Humidity won't go below 80% -- what to do

if it is like the LG there are a couple 3/8" holes and a whole bunch of small holes on both top and bottom you can use a pencil to make the smaller holes bigger and if you feel the humidity is to low use the eraser and fill a hole or two you can go to walmart and buy the pencils that are push button and they come with a bunch of erasers that would be the first place to start

Okay.. after taking some of the water out.. with previously mentioned methods..

and covering some of the floor space with paper towels.. my humidity has been a constant 70% since about 7:00 last night.. is that still too high or okay. Today is day 21 with shipped eggs.. so many variables.. making me a bit nuts.

At this point on day 21 you have to take a back seat and let mother nature do the rest. 70% is good for ducks..Having said that,
I think you will be fine. I hatch both and have cranked the humidity up to 70% when hatching duck eggs with chicken and have had no issues. I would be willing to bet on the next hatch you won't have the same problem.

I have a question...the hovabator plastic tray actually has about 6 places the you could add water did you just fill the center 2? or did you put water in the other recesses also.? I ask because my hovabator has never run that high without adding wet washclothes.

I filled up ALL of the wells.. a lesson learned.. three more trying to hatch now.. one pip .. two "chips"..

Corgi.. they are mainly Blue Orpingtons.. yellow ones are Buff Orpingtons about 5 days older.. and the little silver one is a Blue Maran.

Have one Blue Laced Red Wyndotte chick out and in the brooder since it was disturbing all of the other remaining eggs... looks like one zipping and one more pip.. No one should call it HATCH DAY.. more like 3 days..
