So I was away for 5 days this week, left the incubator w/ the hubby. He didn't have to do anything to it & was told not to touch it. He decides that the humidity was to low (in the 30's) so he goes and adds water to ALL the troughs (hovabator genesis). Now the humidity is in the 50's range!! Lock down is tmrw. I'm not sure how long humidity has been in the 50's since I don;t know when he added the water.
Did he drown all the eggs??? Or is it going to be ok???
why he took it upon himself to go & add water when he was told not too is beyond me.....its not like he couldn't have sent me a text or called......grrrrr!!!!
I hope the eggs are still gonna hatch. Planning to candle tonight.

Oh, you're being to hard on him, and, and being to particular about the incubation.

Many people think incubating eggs is a "Science", and it isn't. Incubation is very simple. Your humidity is fine, and tomorrow, you can set your humidity at 65%.

Why he messed with it? That's beyond me, but he was just trying to help, and 50% isn't that bad.

I incubate at between 10%-30% humidity for chicken eggs. For Quail, 45% is adequate.

He is a man and they think they always know best ; ) I bet you will be just fine : )

Heh heh heh. Yeah, he probably does that too.

don't worry 50% is cool & ur chicks not drowned ... Yeah if he make it upto 65% or above cont.. for 4 or 5 days then it will create problem
