hunting

Sorry, guess I explained that poorly. He missed his, but I got the one behind her. This is his first year bowhunting, but he has been in the stand with me (two seater) the last two years.

Well, that just means you get to spend a little more time in the stand with him until he gets his!

It is just the start of a long season. We were out again this evening, but only got wet (and saw a bunch of turkeys)!

I had to skip going for a hunt today b/c I have been recooping but, even if I was feeling well...I still would not have gone. The wind here started early and was gusting and swirling!!!! That is like my worst nightmare. I wouldn't of mind the quick shots of rain on and off but, the wind forget! The deer round here just bed down till night time then move during the night.

So glad other peeps were able to get today!!

Good luck to the one that posted to wish em good luck!! (sorry I forgot the username already) Guess that's a sign to go to bed!

Not to brag but I went out on the second day of bow season and had a doe within the first couple hours. Now its my sons turn. We have also been getting the coop ready for the winter and have not been back out lately. In Indiana we have had gail force winds for the last couple days. (Not a good day in a tree stand)

Well, yesterday was my turn, but today it was all my son...and his is a good bit bigger than mine was! His first year bow hunting!

Congrats on the doe. We get those strong winds in Kansas, too. It takes a while to get used to sitting in those trees when they are swaying back and forth! I generally don't hunt when the winds are very strong. The deer don't seem to move as much, anyway, although my first bow buck I shot on a day when the winds were gusting over 30mph.

OOOh, some big curly tailed mallards floated down from Manitoba on that NW wind. Got 2 big greenhead drakes, a hen and 3 nice woodies including a beautiful drake to fill my limit this morning. Great day of hunting. Guided my boss and his girlfrriend today. Young dog got lots of work, he's sleeping in front of the woodstove now. If you're not hunting ducks in the central/Mississippi flyway this year, you will be missing out!
