Good for you...my 2 guys seen a total of 8....nothing within range. Couldn't believe my 12 yr. sat patiently for 11 1/2 hrs!!! They plan on getting lucky this weekend.
Planning on doing the same this weekend coming up the same as last weekend.
Went over and helped a friend butcher a small 7 point. I ended up coming home with the head to try out taxidermy on. Least I got part of a deer this year.
ETA: Also speaking of squirrels I had one CRAWL across my back on Sunday while sitting up in my treestand. Didn't quickly crawl it just kinda hung there for a second until I oved to get it's little claws from cutting into my skin LOL.
Can I ask a question on here from all you great American hunters? My DH is getting ready to go hunting and he went to check out his stand and when he came back out of the woods he was full of ticks. Is there any way to keep them off of him? Thanks for the help.
I had just a little time this evening, so I got out in the stand a little before sundown. It didn't leave me much hunting time, but the wind was blocked by the hedge row, so it was a pleasant evening.
I didn't see a thing.
My hubby had dropped me off at my stand and went back so he could use the gator to do chores. I called him to come get me. It was totally dark by the time we started back. When we got to the place where our trail crosses a creek, about 250 yards behind our house I saw a GREAT buck in the headlights of the gator.
He had that bewildered look for a couple of seconds, then took off into the trees.
Well, that got me stoked! I'll be heading back out in the morning!
