We built a lean to shed coop for our 5 girls 14x5'. 2 lavender orps hang out together, buff orp is the informer, the boss white brahma raised from chick & buff brahma easy going. We will use tiedown straps, but we never built anything before. I built a cage for our rabbit not in use from those wire cube shelves 3x6' 3' high with lid not being used. I would love it if that would be ok for 48 hours. We do have some large boxes & a couple large plastic dog kennels. Knowing animals go nuts in storms I dont want them to attack each other. They all get along but I dont want to push it. I wonder if they can all be together in the old rabbit cage or I can put the 2 lavenders & the easy going buff brahma with them in the rabbit cage & put the boss & the informer in their own dog kennel, all placed where they see each other. I dont know if they would be like our other animals & need to all be separated due to stress of a storm. Thanks!

Can't answer your qurstion, but I want to say I wish you and your animals all the best in the coming storm. I'm in Missouri and we will probably get wind and rain from it. I have family near Galveston. Where are you?
Friendswood. I wouldn't be concerned about them if I felt confident in our build. Then too theres so much to do for outside. Catching 2 canaries in the aviary are so difficult & bless their hearts I will have to pull 3 diamond doves off their nests. I'm going to take my snippers & try to move them with their nest. Rather the eggs make or not is fine.

Thanks yall! This is the 1st time I'm doing all this myself & my parents too. Husbands company wont let anyone leave, not even early today & even them being in evacuation zone. I just keep telling myself I should lose weight with all this sweat! Lol!

That's nuts and sounds like a passel of future lawsuits. Do what you have to do to stay safe!

So we did not have problems with the storm. I had a good run thru on the plan. Since animal are generally upset with an approaching storm, I had everything set up before bothering them. I used a rabbit cage we built with those coated wire bins put together with zip ties. A spare treat block & a pail of water inside. A tarp under it & up the sides for easy cleaning & an old sheet over the top. I was waiting til the last minute to get them. Since we didn't need to use it, I'm keeping it up til storm season is over, just removing food & water. Figured last minute they would be roosting & they let me go in there no problem. Then just pass them to my husband. We have a net if needed, but I never have to use it. They come up to me & turn their back for a rub. But they listen to my husband. He can get on the web cam & tell them to cut out the nonsense & they quit squawking.
