Yes, we had a project today that took most of the day - but might come in handy if the power is out for a while.

Meanwhile, tomorrow a.m. I need to recharge the electric fence battery, gather up dozens of doodads from the yard (buckets, solar path lights, hoses, lumber, etc., do a load or two of laundry and run the vacuum. Probably will harvest some tomatoes, ripe or not, and get them in, and take some "before" pictures. We're upland a bit, may just get hit with heavy rain and some wind gusts. But we've had two brief power outages in the last few months from trees falling (one during a sunny day, but a few days after a rainstorm), so we may see a few more fall this weekend.

The Merritt Parkway is being closed, I am told, as well some train service will be shut down, flights cancelled, so it sounds like someone's taking this hurricane / storm seriously.

The sugar maple over the duck house is a sturdy looking tree, and an arborist has checked it out and it looks good to him, too.

Hoping this storm turns out to be nothing much. I was supposed to be leaving for NJ Sat am at 6. Flight got cancelled. Not a bad thing, now I can stay home and make sure all are safe. Ducks are the ones that will be the most po'd at being locked in. Goats practically lock themselves in in rain and wind, and the horses will not love being in but they will be fine. Old bunny will be safe and sound in her huge shed, she won't even know the difference. Will be glad when it is over!!

x2! i live in florida and if it hits us my 2 are coming inside with me! they are spoiled though and come in the house everyday

however like dumb_cluck said now is not the time to be fussy even if yours don't go inside. it's better to deal with it for a day or to and be safe than sorry

I wouldn't mind having them inside, but my mom says no

I just hope they'll be safe in the barn. It's large, close to the house, and away from trees.
