Possibly but idk of a shelter that will take 5 people 2 dogs 2 cats and 4 cockatiels and I can’t just leave all the animals behind. 1 of those dogs is also severely reactive.

Ask your vet for tranquilizers for the reactive dog. And shelters will take all your animals, you just need to have them in kennels, cages or crates or on leash. Don't just stay home and die.

Following this thread for sure because I think this hurricane season is going to be ugly. Even though I live in northern Ohio, I also prepare for weather events. You wouldn't think it would be necessary but we are usually in the path as hurricanes die out and it really can get bad here. The terrain here is FLAT so wind is very destructive here.

I've got the gas cans full, generator is ready and the pantry is always full here. I'm keeping everyone down south in my thoughts too. You all bear the brunt of the damage. Hoping for the best!

Yeah we had a plan but then we’ve cut contact with family we would’ve stayed with and any other family is already destroyed by Helene so there went multiple places we could’ve stayed one of our cars also isn’t working. I would’ve loved to be able to stick to the plan we had but just not possible anymore.
