We can't unfortunately so we are doing lots of prep here. Moving all the animals in the barn, chickens in crates in the barn, makeshift goat stall, putting up out shudders, etc. I hope everyone else stays safe

I really wish I could not really up to me my mom has said we’re not evacuating even if we were to we have nowhere to go all the hotels and shelters and everything are full and the roads are packed.

I have family in Sarasota. They aren't leaving, said they can't. As soon as it hit Cat 4, people hit the roads and are going nowhere. They said their house is rated for winds up to 180mph. Guess we'll find out

The storm surge is gonna be the real monster in this one. Cat 5 wind resistance rating won't stop 15 foot storm surge

I hope it's not as bad as they're predicting.

My Mom is in St. Petersburg and won’t be able to get out either. She’s in a 10th floor apartment which actually puts her in evacuation zone D. They’re voluntarily evacuating zones A-C now, with at least A-B being mandatory evacuation at some point.
As was mentioned before, unless you were on the road already this weekend, there’s nowhere to go. No hotels etc.

It’s expected to downgrade to Cat 3 or 4 before landfall, but still…
