Hurricane season 2024

Are you still doing okay?

Thanks for asking! :hugs

I had an idea this afternoon for how to use the ratchet straps we had bought for the chicken coop. I couldn't find anchors at any store I searched the past 4 days.
But finally, it came to me... only after the weather started. 😶‍🌫️
After 4 hours in the rain, my boots were sloshing.

There's a sturdy fence close to the coop with poles concreted in. So I put one ratchet strap around a pole, low as it would go. Then I dug a deep hole and "planted" our shovel, at an angle... and attached the other ratchet strap to that. Both going over the roof of course.

So, a much more redneck version of this:
😅
I wonder if this is going to work for this guy

Making McDonalds fries available would qualify as a first responder. I wouldn't want anything else they have even in a hurricane disaster, but the fries would be ok.
No. My nephew is a Fire Chief in Tampa, he is understandably required to work. Fast food does not qualify, even Waffle House shut down (sarcasm). Make PB&J at home.

All waffle houses in the area are shutdown but I do consider fast food and emergency service after storms so people can be fed if they didn’t stock up or they lost their house with all their food

St petersburg recorded 9inches of rain in 3 hours, 5 just in the last hour!

I know I was joking.

But, there will be some places that will open to serve food when and if they can. Not saying they will force people to work.
