Hurt Baby Chick!

While chasing after one of my 5 week old baby chicks, I accidentally stepped on it. I am so saddened

. It has made it through the night and seems to be eating and getting up and walking now but it is still moving slow.

So sorry...I know you feel awful but these things happen sometime. You're taking good care of it. Sounds like it may be nearing the edge of the woods!! You might want to give it some electrolytes in it's water and polyvisol drops...1 three times a day...just to give it a little boost! Good luck!

I second oldtimegator. There really isn't much more you can do except give it time, cuddling, and a good food and water laced with extra vitamins.

I hope the little one makes it okay.

I always have a large fishing net (one sold for the pond, lightweight and just big enough to catch a bird)... birds have weak legs and this is quite helpful to catch them without running the risk of them (or you) injuring them.
