Hi everyone! I am at a friends house, and I was clipping mats off the dog, and I heard commotion over in the chicken run. I looked over there, and there was this hen that had her head stuck under a board at the edge of the wire. All the other chickens were crowded around. I hurried over, and shooed the chickens away, and I got the hen out, and she was completely limp, like dead. The only way I knew she wasn't, was that her eyelid quivered, and I could see her body moving with her breathing. I separated her into a cage, in the shade, but she still hasn't woke up in several hours. She is still alive. Lately when I go out, she has bee moving her legs a little when I move her. Her neck is floppy, just like a dead chicken. It looks like the other chickens were pecking on her, because her comb is bleeding, and her neck is pecked at. Any advice would be appreciated! I don't know if she is just like, so scared or traumatized still, or what. I didn't know, or rather, haven't ever experienced an unconscious chicken. Thanks!
