I have a 5 week old pullet, Dot, (either Leghorn or White Rock) that was injured by, I am guessing, a hawk about a week ago. Her left wing (shoulder) was badly bruised and a small puncture wound. I kept her in a box away from my other chicks (lost two others apparently to a hawk) for the past week, doctored her shoulder and pampered her. She has been more lively the past couple of days so yesterday I put her in the run with my others (one roo and two Iso's same age as her). They all did fine until it came evening then the roo started pecking at her shoulder (it is still neosporined together feathers) so I brought her back into the house to her box. Today I have had her in the run (attached to a coop) all day and she is very much more active.
My question is, when should I leave her all night with the others, of course I would have to move her into the coop because she hasn't learned to go up the ramp like the others do at dusk.
I may just see what she does at dusk this evening and go from there.
Any help would be appreciated.
