Hurt/sick chicken

The kind you put on horses hooves, you can find it at stores like TSC.
LOL I tried everything, They just pick at pine tar and vaseline. Luckily, they have settled down, the boys seem to have found their place in the flock. Blue Boy is king, Goldie is his number 2 and Spud is the court jester. They will be good boys to look after their own girls when they get here. The one they injured is fully healed and welcomed back into Blue Boy's harem. :)

Hi, I was wondering where are you getting the pine tar? Is this the same pine tar as for baseball bats or the kind that they spread on horse hooves? I have Buff Orpingtons and I have a little hen that looks like she got attacked by one of our randy roosters. I have gotten the wound healed up pretty well, but they are all pecking at her. We are relatively new with chickens, any help is greatly appreciated.
https://northeastfarrier.com/ They have the best price per gallon (40) that I have found. TSC is 30.00 per quart. I buy many gallons per year as I make a wood finish from it (linseed oil/Pine Tar 50/50 with a splash of turpentine for flashing. Our entire coup and Run structure is coated in it (excellent weather protection and mites and other bugs hate it). We just did our deep spring clean and there were zero bugs of any kind in the coup. I also make salves/soap and shampoo with it for it's skin healing properties. Very useful stuff!!

Thank you. We are expanding our run... again... so we will have about 15-20 sqft per chicken, so wood treatment will be helpful. I can't imagine anything that would like the smell. :)
