Hurt very badly by dog attack please help!!!

Before it heals it needs to be cleaned. She also needs antibiotics.
I wish I had someone that could take her and give her the proper care that she needs. She was my stepdaughters and she rode home with us under my car about 4-5 months ago and we kept her because my step daughters dogs had killed every other chicken they had.

Have a city or state facebook group you could post to? people are very kind and somebody might take her, or donate to you

Could of been worse coming from a Shepherd

I didn't read the whole thing, seperate her from the flock, flush it with saline, and hope for the best
Thank you! The Shepard is 5 months old and I didn’t catch him in the act until he already had her down and had the damage done still biting her!

I don’t believe I have a Facebook group for it. If you guys could help me find one for kentucky it would be so very much appreciated. I’m located in Russell springs, kentucky.

I honestly don’t have the funds for a vet visit whatsoever unfortunately. There’s a Walmart about 14 miles from me but if it’s a cream antibiotic how would I put it on the wound without hurting her even worse?
Sometimes you have to do things that may be unpleasant in order to get done what needs to be done.

It needs to be cleaned really well. Irrigated. Then the feathers need to be trimmed away from the edges so we can see what we're working with. Once the wound is clean, then apply a very thick layer of the plain triple antibiotic ointment. If you think you have enough, apply more. I squeeze it directly onto the wound and then gently pat it around. It likes to stick to your fingers so you have to sort of drag it around and pat gently to get it where it needs to be. Do NOT let the wound dry out. Reapply the ointment as much as necessary.

With how deep her wound is, and where it is located, there is a chance that this could be worse than we realize. Keep that in mind.

Well, he’s still young so hopefully you can get him trained to birds are friends not toys or food.

Okay thank you. I’ll do my absolute best to help her anyway that I can. My local Walmart closed about 20 minutes ago due to COVID they’ve been closing early. Should I apply the blue lotion again for the night until I can do more in the morning?

Its spelled, Shepherd... they "herd" not "ard'
