It's hard to work with. Sometimes if you wet a q-tip and use that to spread it around, it works better.

Read your label, it likely says if you can use it more than once a day.

Triple antibiotic ointment will spread easier if you warm it slightly in your hand, I like the suggestion of using a Qtip to apply it in hard to reach places.

The antibiotic ointments is more of a topical application. Best not to get too much deep inside the wound. You don't want to inhibit natural defenses at work.
