Hurting badly--missing my roo, miscarriage mentioned

I am so sorry for your losses. I lost 2 babies by miscarriage myself. It is misery, especially when you want a child so much. Animals make great surrogate children that never move away from home, but sadly, we do lose some for various reasons. Do yourself a favor, go get a batch of silkies and spoil the heck out of them!;-)

The only reason I was allowed to keep Arlo was because he was crippled. I miss his crowing, his tweetings, cooing, his happy noises,

Losing a chicken you really love is a bit like losing a child. I've lost a very special chicken a week ago and I'm still very sad. Maybe you should adopt another one to fill your arms and your heart. It would never replace the boy you've lost, but it will give you someone to love.

one problem--landlord says no to chickens, & they are considered farm animals, which are not allowed in the city limits

I am so sorry about both your loses. Do you have someone to talk to? A shoulder to cry on? There are plenty of us here that would be willing to listen.

I'm very sorry about all your losses. It sounds like you have had many difficulties in your life. Do you have a close family person or friend who can be a support for you? We have had a number of losses in my immediate family -- miscarriages and a still born and it is very painful as few people want to discuss it. Our community and local hospital have pregnancy loss groups where mothers (and fathers too) can share their experience, pain, strength and hope. If your community offers a group like that, you might want to check it out.

As for your sweet little roo, I am also partial to chickens for pets; but perhaps you might find comfort with another animal like a cat or small dog if your landlord allows it.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
