Hurting badly--missing my roo, miscarriage mentioned

I'm so sorry for our losses, but so glad you got to enjoy such a special bond. Have you considered one of the long-lived parrots? It sounds like you love spending time with animals, and their long lifespan may be attractive to you.

Give yourself time... From a 5 timer...it doesn't go away but gets tolerable. When it;s dark and lonely, remember the sun will rise in the morning. Just hang on. I'm sending you supportive love

Grief from any death takes months and often years to work through. No one should be given a time line to recover from grief. I have gone through many from pets to a stillbirth to parents and a lot depends on what else is going on in your life at the time. You need to give yourself permission to grieve and take the time you need to do it. If you don't or can't immediately, it will come back to bite you in one way or another.
The old ways of a year in mourning were really quite wise IMHO. A year gave a person time to heal and by the time it was over, most were ready to live again. Another reason to go back to a simpler life.
