Husband objects to discount paint

Wow... what a color. Yea, that would keep me up at night.

my hubby won't buy the sale paint... he wants to know what he is getting and wants to get exactly what he wants. He even fights me on color. He has gone all out for our new coop as it is the LAST he is EVER going to build me... (yea... right... like I will live by that...

I always ask about the mis-tints when I go to buy paint for poultry projects. But this last time the only exterior paint they had was a lurid purple. I stared at it for a while envisioning painting the show bird hutch with it and finally had to let it go. I was going to have to look at it every day and there was no way I was going to live with something like that!

Is that an automatic door I see? I want to get one of those so bad!

Yes, we made the door, but that's the cheaper automatic chicken motor a lot of people buy for about $80. I don't have the link handy, but I think mine was from Discount Home Automation. It's on a timer we bought from walmart. Looks nice with my pink paint!

Maybe I should paint the door red. Oh, and the outside of the coop is orangey, light orange/pink. Another mistint.

Inspired by your thriftiness, we raided the Home Depot Oops! shelf today. How do you like these? They are oil/alkyd semi gloss and should make a tough, hard finish. The gold is Behr paint and primer in one that usually sells for $17 in that small size--this was $1. This will be the most cheerful coop we've ever built, LOL.

That would be the color of those colorful Victorian houses would use! They are goreous when it is well matched! Try it, and see if you like it!
