husband wont eat eggs!!!

Opposite problem here. IF they are store bought, no one will eat them. My sister made the mistake of giving me the extra eggs from her 6 hens and now we can't stand the nasty stale grocery store egg facsimiles. I now have 3 Speckled Sussex and 3 EE pullet chicks started in my spare bedroom. They are 2 weeks old today and I hope they grow up soon because we are hooked on the real thing now.

I will admit that the taste is stronger then store bought. Try a 4:1 ratio then in a week 3:2 and so. It just might take time to get over the different taste and texture.

If you make scarmbled eggs, and some oinion, garlic powder, cracked pepper and cream.

Bake with them. Cookies, cakes, pastries, and so on.

My family has a hissy fit if we run out off eggs and have buy store eggs.

That DH must be a real DH because I'm a DH and I LOVE farm fresh eggs.

Yes, they taste different . . . they are supposed to! He is just used to eating crap from the market.

Tell him he aint' gettin' nothin' else till he agrees to eat your farm eggs.

I would let him eat store eggs... Don't try to change him. I hate peas of any kind and some people just do not have the right taste buds for some things. Give him a big kiss and tell him you love him and it is OK to eat store eggs. Aldi sells eggs for 49 cents a dozen, don't know if you have one in your neck of the woods but they are fresh with dark yokes. Be good now LOL

LOL !!! I wont show my husband that for the same reason ! As far as he knows our rooster is still way to young to " mount " the hens!

Oh my - did I LOVE this!!!! Thanks so much for posting!!!!
I really thought each aspect was hilarious and even touching, and I am even more wanting a broody hen now!

My neighbors husband pitched a fit when she brought home eggs from my birds he wouldn't touch them. He wanted "Clean" store eggs. Since my hens are borwn eggs layers he would only eat white eggs.

Now his wife eats my brown hens eggs and unbeknowst to him her husband eats my "white" duck eggs. He's been eating them for almost a year now. You'd think he'd notice the carton of store bought eggs hasn't changed in all that time.

I agree with Big Chicken Little. It is fine to try and make children eat things that they turn there nose up to. Kids can be trained, us men cannot

, and I can say that here because I know my wife doesn't read this message board.

Oh, agreed, I wouldn't push either. But I would tell him he can buy his own store bought eggs AND cook them himself.

Again, agreed. There's no point in enabling him by catering to that ridiculous 'desire' for store bought eggs.

Now there's a real man. I bet he eats quiche too...well, even if he calls it a 'tart' or something.
