Hello! I was wondering what everyone's thought are on hybrid chicken breeds. I am possibly looking at getting hybrid chicken breeds, but am a little hesitant about all the health issues they could have and how good they would be for egg laying and also how long they would lay that higher number of eggs thinking like the (ISA Brown)? Or is it better just better to stick with heritage breeds? I have Brahmas now and have never gotten and hybrid breed so wanted to do a little research before I for sure think about getting any. Thank you!

Both are great! For me personally, the only downside to hybrids is their shorter lifespan. I love ISA's. They lay a beautiful terracotta color.
I have 6 hybrids currently out of 15 total birds. My favorite has gotta be the sapphire gem! They are the ultimate sweetest birds i have owned.
In my own personal experience, I have found hybrids to be friendlier than heritage breeds. But other people will have different opinions based on their experiences.
Hybrids typically lay more than heritage. There are a few high egg yielding Heritage breeds out there, like australorps and rhode island reds. Heritage breeds live longer.
It all depends on what qualities are most important to you!:)
