Hybrid Pheasants

I am not wrong. I am pretty sure the last time I checked what ppheasants I had , their were 2 yellow goldens and 3 red goldens. I cant give u pics of hybrid pheasants because I dont have any

Could anyone PM me with any pheasant eggs for sale? Doesnt have to be NPIP tested. Getting them as a gift for my little sister. She is very fond of red and yellow golden, and lady amherst but any colorful kind would be great. Thanks guys

I raise ring neck pheasants and their mutants, I have for myself,to enjoy the colors. Keep trying to get pied

If you are trying to get pieds, you may have a long wait. New mutations occur very rarely. If you still want to use only your own stock, look for birds that have a white feather or more. Usually this occurs in the wings. Breed those with a white wingfeather together and see if any of the young have more white feathers than the parents. Inbreed these selected birds together. Keep repeating this process of selection for white feathers. Inbreeding for several generations is not advised, however. Just advertise for pied birds and buy some.
I was director of a large pheasant farm. We hatched over 100,000 chicks per year. We had one albino while I was there (7 years) and I never saw a single pied bird.
Be careful not to bring disease into your flock if you buy from outside.

I got 2 white hens with lots of brown this summer. I am using a blue rooster. I also have a red hen that has a little white on it.

I really appreciate your photos of hybrids. I would be very interested in knowing the parentage of each cross. I also looked at your multiphoto display of hybrids. Really beautiful. I have experience only with Reeves X Ringneck hybrids. Got a backcross group(F1 males X Ringneck hens) that were as fertile as the parent species. The first year they were of variable fertility, hatchability, and survival, but the second year, those surviving backcrosses were very fertile and vigorous. Was amazing.
