Can somebody please send me a link to where I can purchase a hygrometer/thermometer (digitial) that i can sit on the shelf in my cabinet incubator and see the read out. I keep looking for them and get confused with what it is I am wanting.

I would soooo appreaciate it!

I am in Canada, so a canadian link would be great, but at this point I woulkd order from anywhere!!!

Thanks everyone!

I'm not finding them on ebay. What you want is one that has no probe, measures temp and humidity (duh, lol) and preferably one that has the "memory" of max and min temp and humidity. That way you can tell if your incubator is having fluctuations and how big of a swing it's having.

I'm from Canada, but I bought mine at the Home Hardware store - similar to Lowes, in the States - I think...

It's called a "Temp Minder" and it was $14.99 Can.

I just bought it yesterday, so I still have the packaging...the model # is MRC555 from Minder Research Incorporated with their head office listed at 3000 SE Waaler Street, Stuart, FL 34997 USA and telephone: 1-772-463-6522; e-mail: [email protected] or
website: www.MinderResearch.com

It measures temperature in F and C, humidity (between 20-90%), it has a minimum and maximum memory for, both temperature and humidity and it also has a 12/24 hour clock. It takes 3 "AAA" batteries and has a little pull out stand (like a picture frame) in the back.

Here's what it looks like and, hopefully, there's some piece of information in all of that, that might be of help to you.

Alright, I have found some on ebay for under ten bucks...

They're all from Hong Kong though, so they may take awhile to arrive if you order these. But Hong Kong has some awesome electronics items for dirt cheap. I've ordered a lot of my little electronic items from there (different sellers of course) and they all work awesome and were dirt cheap.

I found one at a local cigar shop and it has worked great. Accurate and small size with temp on it also and you can calibrate it....I will get mfg name when I can and post it here. I think it was about $20. You can kinda see it here.

I would think that a meter with a probe would be better. The probe is on the end of a cord and only the probe is inside of the incubator and, the meter itself sits outside. Having any digital/electronic device staying 24/7, inside the high humidity environment, might-would cause it to fail sooner. Also, with the actual meter outside, there is no difficulty in reading the instrument through a widow or peephole.
