Hypothermic chicken

I have a problem. one of our dogs went out and decided to chase our chickens. Well it caught one of them and white washed it through the snow. Its one of my pullets. She had some feathers pulled out ans some little cuts. And a bloody beak. But she is totally frozen. I had brought her inside and placed her near our fire place. I had to literally chip away ice and snow from her feathers. She is still breathing, but isnt moving any where. I know I cant bring her body temp up to fast with out killing her. Anyone have any suggestions?

Try warm water. It is always best to warm from the inside out. And maybe wrap her up in a warm towel. Our chickens love to held in a blanket. Also, start the vitamins right away. Good luck. I'm sure she'll perk up in no time.

Try giving some warm cooked oatmeal or a lowsodium broth. That'll warm her up... Of course there's also a nice warm bathrobe, fuzzy slippers and a good book...

She's probably in shock.

More likely its in shock. Try to give it a warm quite place to rest.

I had a 2 month old sebright that got in a 5 gal. bucket of water and wasn't found til morning.
Poor thing was so cold and barely breathing.
I dried it with hair dryer and wrapped it in a blanket.
About and hour later it was singing and moving around fine.
If her feathers are wet, I would suggest the hair dryer.

Well I left her in the house by our fire place most of the day. She layed where we usually keep news papers for burning. She never moved around much and acted like she was well lethargic. I got out a medicine sringe used to give infants medicine, and started forcing it down her. Then I made her eat some layer feed. And I went a head and gave her a tiny amount of childrens ibuprofren. About a half an hour later she was up and trying to perch on the shelves around the book case. I turned the heat lamp on in the coop and once it was warmed up I took her back out . I checked on her about an hour ago and she was in a nest box sleeping. I think she will be alright now. I never gave a chicken Ibuprofen before and wasnt real sure wether or not it was a good Idea. But it hasnt seemed to have hurt her any. And I think it might have helped her with the cuts and bruises from the dog. Anyway thank you all for your help.
