Two dogs ( a Walker coonhound and a beagle/Aussie mix) and three stray cats that adopted us. And then we regularly have racco

ons and possums that come up on the porch to eat. (And no, I'm not going to kill it. If I can tolerate the coyotes and foxes and bobcats we also have, I can let the raccoon live. Thank goodness for hardware cloth!)

This is the hardest question - I have a favorite out of each age group, although it's hard to choose. There's 9 day old Hildegard, the little Speckled Sussex:

And the 3 week old cuddlebug Consuelo on the far right, a blue laced gold Wyandotte. (Although all four of that group are insanely affectionate.)

I have two:

Sweety 2025 05 24_Sweety (3).jpg a very people oriented pullet that's absolutely spoiled rotten. She supervises any projects I'm doing around the yard.

Taz 2025 05 24_Taz (5).png a shy but respectful cockerel that crows well before dawn, but he's so handsome he gets a pass.
