Last year my son and wife thought it would be ‘fun’ to get some chickens for our 10 acres with our new home. Started with 14 ‘Hens’ and a year later we have 10 hens and 2 roosters. We lost two white leghorns to sudden death issues. No injuries, I just found them collapsed in the run! The rest of the flock are doing okay. Now about me!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? See above
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?See above
(3) What breeds do you have? We have White Leghorns, Black Australops, Rhode Island Reds and Plymouth Rocks.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Eggs for days. Our neighbors and friends love us!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? My wife is a stained glass artist and I do photography.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My wife is a NICU nurse and I am in the energy industry (secret squirrel stuff)
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? Where else, my wife does Pinterest and sends me multiple ‘ideas’ for our chickens! Bob & Cathy
