I’m back, new eggs on the way!!!

Still pipping... still wiggling COME ON ALREADY!!!

But then i cant really sit still long wnough to look for wiggles

Should start pipping this evening and tonight for hatch tumro is day 16. Last night i peaked and they were starting to draw down so today they should be internally pipped. Im beyond excited!

Well see since the incubators share my little home office.... and my kids are older... I find excuses to wheel my chair over or just jump out of my seat and watch with a flashlight through the top... I’m very much a procrastinator with work even when I have a deadline (like now) sitting on my head, I will STILL screw off (knowing I can finish by tonight with a bit of screwing off added in)

I have the small incubator by my feet on the last shelf of my big corner desk... lol but the other is just a few steps agains the far wall.


I CAN HEAR THE PEEPS!!! Almost all eggs have pipped and they are peeping at me! I whistle to them, they peep back

I called my 7 year old in to shut the office door and listen and he got to hear it too lol

Last year I helped my older son with a science report - we chose breeding white and brown quail and drew up a hypothesis on what we would get.

He got an A! Lol of course I had to help a lot cause he is autistic and stuff but it was still pretty good and he did all the guess work without knowing much about genetics.

Oh and I checked a few of the silver eggs and for now all I can tell is the yokes have enlarged so that is good.

Ok ANYWAY! The mixed batch has started to pop... so far there is 3. One looks solid yellow, one is grey on top, yellow on bottom looks like some sort of tux maybe silver tux? And the other I’ve never seen, its almost black with very pale marks over the eyes and some on the throat but they are all still a bit wet so it’s hard to see. His legs are black but his middle toes are white...

Got 9 out and 11 eggs still in. The color is really hard to see but there is a larger one that is a strange color like I think it may be lavender or some pale cinnamon color it’s not as grey as silver if that makes sense I dunno like I said you can’t really tell here...

There is a couple that are really dark with black skin on the legs but one is super black and I don’t see any reddish fluff on him, they are so cute lol all different variations of colors. I’ve not seen any “normal” brown color just the one all white but I think he will carry other genes of these sort.

We will see what else pops out! And we can see color better tomorrow!
