I’m confused about egg color

If you are t trying for a refund or exchange I say it really doesn’t matter what the feed store says now. She looks lovely and is the first to actually give you an egg, which has got to count for something! Hopefully they all lay different colors, it’s nice when you know which of your chickens laid which eggs, it’s easier to figure out who to treat if there are problems etc.
Oh definitely. I have 17 hens and each are my pet. My daughter loves them to death and spends hours with them a day. I’m grateful to have them healthy and happy

I made the same mistake you did when I got my chicks last year. I thought I was buying an Ameracauna but they ended up being Easter Eggers. Both my ladies lay a sea foam green colored egg. Hope your others will lay the color you want!

Pure bred Americaunas are more expensive and probably would not be sold at a feed store; that said, many people make the mistake of thinking they're the same thing.
Since most EEs are bred from Americaunas and Auracanas, to most backyards it doesn't really make a difference.
I’ve learned so much from this. I had no idea it wasn’t as simple as I thought. As they say... “you get what you pay for”.
I love her no matter what color egg she laid. Thanks for all the reply’s

Keep us posted when the other two lay, now I'm curious. One of my EEs laid a beautiful sage green egg. But she's gone now. The other lays a very pale blue, that fades to nearly white as the season goes on. Can't wait to see what my newest EE lays.
Will do. :frow

One of my biggest disappointments when starting with chickens was learning about AmerauKindas(what I call the ones at the local feed mill-who perpetuate the 'lies' told by the hatcheries).
But...some of the best blue eggs I have had are from my EE's.
