I’m confused, What makes a “Jumbo” Coturnix Quail?

I have brown Coturnix Quail. Is there a difference between the Jumbo and Brown Coturnix Quail? Mine get pretty large but not as big as some of the pictures I’ve seen. Is there a difference even though they look the same? I also have the Italian Coturnix Quail. The guy I bought them from said they were Jumbo’s also. I’m confused, what makes a Jumbo Coturnix Quail anyway? Is there a definition of “Jumbo” Coturnix Quail or are they just a large brown Coturnix Quail?
Thanks, Ira

Brown Coturnix Quail Could this be same as "Jumbo"?

The term "Jumbo" has been used frequently and there isn't a specific measurement or chart in my own opinion would set as a standard. Maybe there is some information out there, but I haven't found any official info.

James Marie Farms has "standardized" the jumbo to 14-16oz. standing weight. (as opposed to 7-9oz.)
They are the same bird, jumbo is line bred for size.

There was an excellent topic on this forum dating back a good few years that followed some people who were line breeding jumbos, I wish I could find it again
