I’m devistated

She didn’t eat on her own so I still tube fed her. She messes with her feed, so it’s all over the place. Her limp is there still. I just got her the b complex pill, all I had was b 12 paste. So I’ll give it awhile, she doesn’t mind the tube feeding. At least she isn’t loosing weight and her droppings are normal with no bile. That’s really reassuring
Where are you keeping her?
Does she not have access to feed free choice during the day?

Try making her feed into a wet mash if she's strewing it all over the place. Soak a small amount of All Flock feed in water for about 20 minutes, let it soak up the water and feed it at about the consistency of oatmeal.

You want her to eat on her own.

She has mash, pellets, crumblesto her accessibility. I only use all flock since my crew is a wide range of cuties.

When I came home from work her crop was not full so I fed her. After I fed her I let her walk around the coop. She was 90% better!!

I’m so glad!! I’ll keep her in the cage for a couple days and then I’ll let her out.

I’ll only tube feed her if her crop is empty at 8pm.

I’m a weirdo and I feel every single crop before I close the coop up!

The pen she is in is my chicken transitioner, mating pen, hospital

Edit…nevermind still limping!

After I fed her tonight, I let her walk so I could evaluate her. This is how she is favoring her leg she walks on it like this.

Does she have enough space in confinement to move about?

Hard to know if she's suffering from injury or disease. Often all you can do is ensure they are eating/drinking well and give supportive care through vitamin therapy.

If you lose her, having a necropsy performed will give you the most information as to the cause of her decline.

It’s her hock joint that’s swollen. I’ll have to research this.

Maybe it’s a slipped tendon! I’m going to go feel and wrap it. I’m also going to sprinkle anti biotics in the food I’m feeding her.

She’s not eating or drinking, I’m still feeding her. She pecks through the food And makes a mess though. Do you think if I was to sprinkle in an antibiotic it would be helpful?

She is the third pic

I tried to wrap her but she was Freaking out, so I unwrapped her. I put her in a smaller space hoping that rest will help.

I will be tube feeding her and giving her antibiotics/water via tube.

I have five days to devote to this. If I had a sling I would put her in it so her leg could dangle.

I’m hoping the antibiotic will clear any possible infection

Please get some clear photos of the back of the joint.

Is there oozing of the joint?

I wouldn't sprinkle anything. If I were going to administer and antibiotic, then I would give the correct dose for the required amount of time.
What antibiotic do you have? I may be able to help you with dosing.

I didn’t get a pic of both legs but they seemed equal. No puss or cuts…maybe it’s a slipped tendon. I pulled her leg back but I couldn’t figure it out. I had her splint off yesterday but I redid it today but with twigs on the side to keep it straight. The only antibiotic I have is a sulfa drug. It’s 4g per two liter I am putting it in 20 oz and a little less than a gram. I add some of the water to the syringe when I’m feeding her food since she isn’t drinking. She either will live from my efforts or I may have to cull her so she isn’t suffering. But I don’t want to do that, not with this girl!

How long should I leave this splint on do you think?

Thank you sooo very much spending time with me.
