I’m getting a chicken barn!!

So as our second batch of pullets are starting to lay, our egg baskets are getting more and more colorful! That has led us to the idea that we are going to expand our chicken keeping once again. We were actually in the process of putting up a barn for some of our dairy cows. The thing is the cows as of right now are not kept on our property. As we thought further into it, I think we are actually going to leave the cows where they are already being cared for and use half the barn as a chicken barn! My soon to be husband wants to sell started pullets and I jut think I want to be able to take some eggs to the local farmers market to sell maybe. He just threw this out there to me as an idea last night and honestly I was shocked but super excited.

So I think I might just kill my husband. I guess he’s excited too bc we (He) just went and bought 18 hatching eggs. The barn is not done. It’s literally a roof on posts.

Now that our little barn is almost done I wish I would have taken progress pictures. I was going to upload a video but just realized I can’t here. I’ll have to take some pictures soon!

These aren’t the best pictures, but I took a few yesterday after we put the sand in! We’re almost there guys!!
We framed out for two more nesting boxes and left room for more roosts on the other side so we can add more chickens if we want to later.
