I am an elementary school teacher. This is my third time hatching chicken eggs. I use a mini Brinsea incubator that works really well. I really enjoy this site and I learn a lot from reading the incubation and hatching topics. Thanks for keeping it up to date!

Welcome to BYC. How great that you can share the miracle of birth with your class! What is your exit plan for the chicks after hatch?

Another teacher has backyard chickens and as long as there are no roosters, per our city’s laws, she can keep them. The roosters if any will go back to the farm where I got my eggs. The farmer rescues animals and would take them all if I really needed him too. Luckily I don’t.
