Maverick made a full recovery and has been doing great. This isn’t gonna be a good post. This morning something ripped her throat out. I found her before flies got to her so I know it was very recent. What could have done this?

Lots of praditors in north america. Was she in the coop?

Her esophagus was ripped out. No bite marks that I can tell and no tracks around her. She was in the backyard along a fence line that she loved picking through

It’s not necessary if there were no foot prints probably a hawk but you can take this over to predators an pests and post a picture there many are knowledgeable on what predators kill the way you described. I am so sorry for your loss.
