We got a batch of mixed variety Plymouth Rock chicks about two weeks ago. I stop in just to see if they are OK and find 10 minutes are gone. My wife walks by and looks in, and 15 minutes later remembers the dishes. My son looks over and forgets the cereal bowl in his hand for 5 min. Even the cat seems affected!

Chickmerize: (verb) to mesmerize by chicks

Lol! I thought it was just me that loses track of the time when I am checking on (really visiting) my girls. My hubby gets irritated because we will be getting ready to leave and I'll say "Just a sec, I need to check on the girls", and before I know it 20 minutes has passed and hubby's a hollerin' and telling me to hurry up! :gig

I don’t know if we are lucky or not that both me and my wife are susceptible. On the one hand we don’t get irritated with each other about it, but on the other hand there is nobody to snap us out of it!

I'm so sorry that you have now come the realize the dangers of backyard chickens. We have all fallen prey of the first danger, the cuteness factor. :hit
