I have (2) 14 month old chickens and (2) 4 month old chickens I raised from chicks. My grown Black Minorca will not stop bullying my pullets. They are still so fearful of going down from the coop to the run that I have to force them down. They love being in the run but my bully chases them back up!! Yesterday I noticed injuries (minor) on one pullets neck and today a huge bloody peck hole on the head of the other! They are Buff Brahmas and are sooo sweet! What can I do To get them settled and not fear for my babies safety? Ps, the black minorcas name is “jerk” since she has always been mean. She however is not the dominent one...my huge light Brahma who is sweet and normal with the chicks is the alpha. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!

My bully hens get put in the timeout pen for a week or so, then added back. It may have to be done several times. It shakes up her place in the pecking order, and hopefully when adding her back in, she will have to work herself back to her original place. It works, but sometimes you have to have patience and keep them penned up for two weeks at a time.
My bully roosters are sent to Rooster Flocks, permanently.

Definitely take out someone, if there are injuries the hen did it on purpose and won't stop by

Chickens know how hard to peck and where. its never by accident when they injure someone like that
I first thought my first roo didn't know his strength when he drew blood on my hand with a peck but since then my chickens have been so gentle with me and even each other that I know when a chicken visibly hurts another with blood drawn its on or purpose

My buffs pecked the ee pullets upon integration but it was never hard enough for injury

How big is your coop and run, in feet by feet?
Pics of coop and run, inside and out, would be a big help.

How did you integrate the chicks into the coop and run with the older birds?
