Two of my chicks have a gel kind of poop one dark one caramel color. I started them all on medicated starter for one bag then switched. I have been giving electrolytes in their water. I am also giving scrambles eggs. I am wondering if I should treat them for coccidiosis ? I bought the wrong strength of corid it is 20%. So I was going to cut that in 1/2. But I'm questioning if they need treatment at all.

I think they are probBLY fine. what you are seeing is the cecal poops they will put out a few times a day I heard like every 8gn or tenth poo. Coccidiosis will usually be a clear watery poo with a bit of stringy stuff and a little speck of white. Pics of the poos would be a great help to those wiser than me to give a better answer.

Thank you for your reply. That is what it is a cecal poop! I have learned so much in 3 weeks it is unreal. Thanks again.

great. I rember how anxious I was as a new chickie dad, still am to a point I don't start breathing easier until they are integrated into the flock. That isn't wrong just shows you care about your little charges. Hang out here tons of info it is nearly my only rescource looking elsewhere has just wasted my time to often.
