I am a terrible duck parent! I lost two ducks and did not even notice it! 😳🤦‍♂️😳🤦‍♂️😳🤦‍♂️

You might not have a tank. They called those field something or another. We have a tank but the pre purchase inspector said no food, tobacco, etc down the drain. My mom has a tank and has used the disposal for years. Who knows? My guess is that food through the disposal will just make you have to pump the tank a year or two early.

Have you pumped it? They need pumping every couple years.
In order to have it pumped out, which one should do every 5-8 years, you need to know where the tank is located…
Now the people from which we bought the house told us, they were told that the septic tank is located behind the house under the only portion of really flat land. That would put the tank smack in the middle between the house and the duck-mansion.
I doubt that, because we have a bathroom in the basement and there is no sump pump, which means that if the tank is located where they say, it would have to be under 9-15 feet of dirt - or "water" must be able to flow uphill here. (It doesn't do that!)
My theory is much scarier: The first owners built the house and had the septic tank in front of the garage, where it is comfortably below the house. Then one of the later owners decided to change the in-house garage into a mudroom and built a new garage in front of the house, right on top of the septic tank, permanently sealing in the poop under 10 inches of concrete.
If i am right we are sitting on a time bomb here…
The third possibility is even scarier and there is no septic system and somewhere below the house there is a pipe ending up in the woods. - Which would put one of my feet straight into the county jail…

I let the ducks drill until their bills are red hot, so far no trace of any piping, except for the roof drainage pipes, they dug one of those out.

Leach field :sick we have the kind with two tanks that treats the water and sprays it out.
We should have both: A septic tank to "clean" the "water" and a leach field to make it "disappear". Should…

We have two tanks and 3 sprinklers . The third one is downhill and in the woods. It’s a swamp down there.
So you have a water treatment facility like I do that you put chlorine tabs on tank number 2. @WannaBeHillBilly had the old fashioned kind. Okay nothing like a good septic system chat.
