I am a total newby to chickens

A raised coop can be walked into, just need steps and a landing, the 'under run' can be windbreaked for winter for a good place to dust bathe all year......and great deep shade in summer.

Gonna be brutally honest here.
Those roosts are awful, tells me they don't know much about chickens.
Top one couldn't be used, too close to wall.
Can't use the full length of corner roosts.
Roosts should never be put over pop door, or they'll be walking thru the night poops to go into nest to lay... soiling nests and eggs.

Metal roofs do need insulation to deter condensation, but they've covered the best places to ventilate - at the high and low eaves. The windows(well, half of them) might be good ventilation in summer, when it's not raining. ...and the window screens, not gonna hold up to predators.

I could go on, but want my lunch...sorry for my harshness, just want to be honest, bad coop designs tick me off, might be hangry.

I'd pass on this, do your research and design a much better coop for your money.

G’Day from down under Wooden Eagle Farm :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Which is evidenced by all the above support and advice :clap

Nothing really for me to say now except, best wishes and good luck! Oh, and I do have an elevated coop [due to our climate] and it is easy to clean due to the slide out floor we installed [take the floor out, duck under the coop and stand up inside ;)].

Anyways, if you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock when they arrive, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

I might suggest raising your coop, especially if you get much snow. We have had drifts come up to the bottom of the human door and our coop is at least 12” off the ground. There have been a few times I’ve been unable to open the run door (it opens in), but the girls wouldn’t come out in the snow anyway! I still need to get inside the coop though, and am thankful I haven’t had to shovel that door clear...yet!
