I am about to go stark raving mad!!!! **RANT***

well after doing more research I have been able to find out that getting the name of this creep is going to be harder then we expected.

The driver had been allowing ANYONE on the bus, which is strictly against board policy, and he has been ADDING stops to accommodate these extra students... again a big no no. So not only do I have a police matter in my hands, but now i have a board matter... (our school boards hold all the control as to the stop locations, and control of the buses the drivers are just contract drivers)

A law suit is definitely the way the go. Not for the money but to precipitate change. Sometimes it is the only way to get the attention that a matter this important deserves.
If there were to be a monetary award years and years down the road, it could be donated backl to the school district.

I hope that it doesnt need to go this far and that there is resolution in the near future!

Ok I am sure this is wrong but I miss the old days (and I am not that old) where your son could have just knocked that nasty kid on his butt! then you could have marched over to the parents house and give them a good talking to!

I just know I am going to have a very hard time in the upcoming years as my ds gets older and has to deal with that stuff. I bet I'll be in the principles office just as much as when I was a kid.

hopefully I will stay out of jail

but I would loose my mind if someone threw maggots at my kid and no adult intervened.

Wow, i thought i had it bad with a driver who has been convicted of not using his red lights right, turning them off before the kids get across the road, and he still driving, What is it with school boards now, they won't do anything unless a kid threatens violence against the whole school, or someone actually does something bad. then it to late. What the board did about your cameras, geee, with the district i drive for all buses have them but most of the time they don't believe what they see, if only the driver see a problem and report it if its not on that tape they don't believe you.

I drive a school bus in NY...

Sigh....... The kids have more rights than the drivers here.... the kids can come up to the front of the bus beat the C**p out of the driver and we're not supposed to lift a hand... sigh

I know it is so hard to keep an eye on a large bus full of kids.... Unless I see something building, it's hard to do much after the fact...

The kids I have this year are better than the last 3 years, but they know me know and they know I don't take their BS.... they complain the few times I take a day off.... I treat them as if they were my own and I know that there are a lot of drivers that just don't care.... Sometimes that is simply because the school or bus company just doesn't stand behind the driver... so the driver gets frustrated, big time....

Unless you are a royal squeaky wheel with the school and bus company... and just keep complaining.... otherwise nothing will be done

Keep complaining and document everything!!! Hopefully something will happen before a fight erupts.

I think it was magnets that he threw.

The kid sounds like a bully. Give 'em heck. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. When my son was about 12, a much older boy was beating him in the head with one of the big portfolio notebooks on the bus. The bus driver ignored it. I complained big time. At first, they blew me off. They claimed that the boy was always a problem and people just needed to understand the difficulties of dealing with him and his family. It told them that I would be much more difficult for them to deal with. Then I went to the school, got in the superintendant's face and made sure that he understood that I fully intended to sue if 1) it ever happened again and 2) the kid wasn't suspended and kicked off the bus. Hallelujah. It was a miracle. The kid got suspended for a couple of days and kicked off the bus. When he came back, he never did it again.
