My buddy Gleam is a 2 year old roo. Today he has been drowsy and lethargic, and when I picked him up for a closer look this afternoon, he had pale yellow gunk in his ears. When I gently scraped away at it it was white inside. My poor buddy was just half asleep in my arms! My husband found similar gunk (though less of it) in Gleam's other ear, but also clear liquid when my husband gently pressed against it. In the meantime, poor Gleam was just resting his head on my shoulder or arm, and kept his eyes closed or half-closed once I had him. I did not see any nasal discharge, and don't think there was any from his eyes, but as I said, he kept them closed for the most part.

His appetite doesn't seem great, either. Earlier today I took him aside specially and offered him some mash; he ate a little bit, but not much. He has also begun his molt, poor fella!

We immediately isolated him and will put a couple drops of VetRX into his bedding tonight and NutriDrench in his water; we have also called our vet for an appointment, but nothing definite is available until Monday (we are hoping the vet can squeeze us in tomorrow). I gave Gleam a going over and found no bugs or sign of bugs. The flock was last wormed in mid-June. The birds eat Purina Flock Raiser and free range for about half the day in a partially cleared, partially forested area. We just cleaned out the coop over the weekend and I put a lot of energy into keeping a clean run, coop, and overall area.

Any suggestions in the meantime? Sorry, I have no photos of droppings right now.
