I am afraid to go out to my garden

~*B*~ :

i think i am more scared now cause i was mowing a couple weeks ago and mowed over an underground wasp nest and was atttacked by them. got sting a couple times and could barely walk after the swelling kicked in. we thought about the bag trick but the top is made onto several limps in the bushes. would be really hard to do that. bought 2 cans of the spray and am too "chicken

" to go out there with it. maybe tomorrow night...lol.

I know how you feel I stepped on a bee last week it hurt so bad it just kept burning and then my DD told me to dab white vinegar on it and the burning stopped and the swelling went down

This can be quite extreme, but my dad was a little bitty guy (loved him all my life, wish he was still here!) and he would take a long pole, attach a rag to it with a little lighter fluid on it, light it and burn it up. Can you do that without causing a fire to spread? It goes up like dry tinder, they don't have a chance. . .I loved to watch him do it.

There was actually an advertisement in our area (S.W.VA) for hornet nest removal. They stated that certain medicines were made from the venom and they would remove them from your property-nest and all.

Last year we had a HUGE hornets nest the size of a short watermelon. We finally got brave enough to spray the dickens out of it at dusk (that isn't the time you want to discover your can of hornet spray fails to spray!) We later knocked it down and called it our Vermont Pinata!

This year some hornets with a real attitude problem have stung me good a couple times until I found their sneaky nest - built into the side of our compost bin. They're going down!
