So here's the problem. I have 2 roosters and 8 hens. One of the roosters is a 5 month old Cornish X and the other is a 2 month old White Leghorn. These two guys are CONSTANTLY wanting to breed with then hens. The problem is that my hens are ending up with giant gashes on them and they are so afraid they won't leave the coop (because my big Cornish X can't get up into the coop). I bought hen saddles today and put them on but the hens are in such bad shape. I have to keep them covered in Neosporin and screwworm spray, I swear I have more experience in chicken wound treatment than I should!!! I also have 2 new hens I tried to introduce to then flock yesterday but they get it so bad they run and bury their heads in the corner.
I am so sick of the fighting and the breeding and the cuts and gashes!!!
I didn't want to seperate the roosters because I don't want all these little seperate pens all over the yard but I don't know what to do!!!
Please someone give me some advice!!!!
